Cisco Systems Modifies the CCNP
Cisco Systems, a world leader in networking industry solutions, has altered their second most-popular certification, the CCNP. The updated Cisco CCNP certification for network engineers now focuses on job readiness and today's technology of switches and routers that are utilized in the work force.
The new CCNP certification drops the following exams, the BSCI Building Scalable Cisco Internetworks , the BCMSN Building Cisco Multilayer Switched Networks , the ISCW Implementing Secure Converged Wide Area Networks , the ONT Optimizing Converged Cisco Networks and the composite BSCI and BCMSN exam. The last day of eligibility to take the above exams will be the end of July 2010.
The new changes include the following assessments, designed for network professionals with at least one year of professional network experience and are capable of moving forward to working independently on complex network solutions:
Exam ROUTE version 1.0 , Implementing Cisco IP Routing, covers a network professional's ability to plan, configure, and verify the enactment of complex enterprise LAN and WAN routing solutions, using a variety of routing protocols, and the configuration of secure routing solutions.
Exam SWITCH version 1.0, Implementing Cisco IP Switched Networks include the planning, configuration, and verification of complex enterprise switching solution implementations, utilizing Cisco Enterprise Campus Architecture. SWITCH also contains the secure integration of VLANs, voice, WLANs, and video into campus networks.
Exam TSHOOT version 1.0 , Troubleshooting and Maintaining Cisco IP Networks comprises the proper procedures in planning and performing regular maintenance on complex enterprise routed and switched networks, and the correct methods of using technology-based strategies and a systematic ITIL-compliant approach to perform network troubleshooting. Labs present the reinforcement of hands-on learning and troubleshooting proficiencies.
