Everything in the world today is governed by rules. Laws. Guideposts. Criterion. Some sort of working principles. A method of uniform standards to insure the homogenous and smooth operation from one working model to the next. No matter how innovative a system may appear, it is to the benefit of the users and the general public that it fits within specific guidelines and modes of operation. Yes, there can be different models of the same item in question, but the framework, the architecture and the overall integration of the final product must meet some equivalent pattern in order to be useful and beneficial. Even chaos in nature has a pattern.
A perfect example would be the various software browsers on the market today. Imagine initiating a web page in your corporate browser within the corporate operating system. (After all, they have rules and requirements within the entire business structure.) Everything executes smoothly. Your workflow is seamless. And you're going to bring your project home over the weekend in order to complete the assignment for Monday's important, deal breaking meeting and presentation. (Your manager loves initiative!) Ready to continue the project Saturday afternoon on your home operating system, which differs from the corporate system, you bring up your personal software browser, wait for the project to appear on screen, and horrors! It doesn't work! Complete meltdown. Was it the different operating system? Or the browser? Or your code? Somewhere incompatibility is a huge factor. (Nature despises anarchy.) And one of the important selling points was smooth integration across all platform lines and products. Believe it or not, at one time, browser and web page integration across all product lines was a major problem.
This is why the A+ certification training must meet industry standards. Even though the system, peripheral and network enhancements, essence and feature sets are the differentiating aspects within your profession from one item to the next, the product in question (you, your technical skills, knowledge and personal abilities) must meet certain industry norms to insure a smooth workflow and continued corporate profitability once the technician has completed a task. Besides, how would you enjoy repairing another technician's shoddy workmanship that didn't meet standards and made your job increasing difficult? Plus deal with the irate corporate client for a failing system or network and costly downtime?
