USB Dongles

Software piracy is a major concern that affects both developers and end users. Unfortunately, end users pay the price as developers have no choice but to pass on the increased costs related to fighting this ongoing threat. K Alliance courses now include a USB dongle that fights software piracy and doesn't add to the cost of your courseware (unless you lose it). We understand that you may not intend to copy and violate the copyright agreement, but if the course falls into to the wrong hands, piracy could be an issue. Our security solution is win-win, you get access to the courseware and our software is protected from piracy which helps to keep our prices competitive.

Please follow these instructions carefully to gain secure access to your courseware and avoid replacement costs.

First and foremost, you cannot run the course without the USB dongle plugged into your computer. The USB dongle is your key to unlocking the courseware. All videos are encrypted to prevent piracy and can only be deciphered through the K Alliance video player when the associated USB dongle is attached.

Each USB dongle is unique and irreplaceable. Losing your USB dongle means you lose access to your courseware. Should you lose your USB dongle, you would need to purchase a new course.

• Easy to use - Using the K Alliance dongle is easy. Simply insert the dongle into any open USB port.
• Do not lose the dongle - If the dongle is lost the course will not work. A replacement dongle costs the same as the original price of the course.
• Dongles are not interchangeable - A USB dongle for one course will not work as a dongle for a different course. Each course has its own unique encryption scheme and only an associated USB dongle can unlock it.
